Brake-van (dog box) relocation generally runs ₹15,000–₹25,000 including escort and door transfers, while a 1A coupé move typically lands between ₹20,000 and ₹35,000 depending on distance and how many berths must be blocked. Railway charges themselves are weight- and distance-based.

Rajdhani trains do not have dog boxes, so brake-van travel is not available. Pets can still travel in 1A on trains that have that class, provided the full coupé or cabin is booked. We pick the train around this rather than forcing it.

For many pets, yes. There are no cabin-pressure changes, no cargo-hold noise, no heat embargoes, and a human can physically check on the animal during the journey. The trade-off is time. A rail move can take 24–40 hours where a flight takes three.

It is a compartment inside the brake or luggage van at the end of the train, fitted to carry animals, with the guard travelling in the same van. Not every service has one, Rajdhani trains do not, so the availability of a dog box on your corridor decides the train before the timing does. Where none exists, a 1A coupé or a road van is the alternative.

Yes, always. A trained escort travels on the same train, checks the animal at scheduled halts, refills water, changes bedding, photographs each check and hands your pet to you personally at the destination. We do not book unescorted brake-van travel, because a thirty-hour journey with nobody responsible for the animal is not a service we are willing to sell.

A veterinary fitness certificate and a current rabies vaccination record, presented at the origin station's parcel office when the animal is registered. Large dogs must be muzzled and chained at the point of booking and loading. There is no crate certification requirement as there is for flying. The container simply has to be secure, ventilated and lockable.

Five to twelve days is comfortable, and 1A coupé moves need the longer end of that because every berth in the coupé must still be available on one PNR. Peak season on popular corridors closes that window fast. Brake-van bookings are more flexible, since parcel space is registered at the station rather than reserved months out.

On a 1A coupé booking, that is the normal arrangement. You and your pet share the coupé and our escort takes the second berth or steps back entirely. On brake-van bookings you can travel on the same train in any class while our escort handles the van, which many owners find reassuring even though they cannot sit with the animal.
