Pet relocation by road in India

We road-move pets comfortably up to roughly 1,200 km. Beyond that, an escorted train or a flight is usually kinder on the animal, and we will say so even though the road job would earn us more.

On dedicated-vehicle bookings, often yes, subject to seating and route. Many pet parents find it reassuring, and pets settle faster with a familiar person present.

Whenever the drive is under about 12 hours, whenever your pet is a snub-nosed breed, and whenever you are moving several animals at once. A four-hour acceptance window plus a crate handover plus collection at the far end frequently costs more real time than the drive saves, and on corridors like Mumbai to Pune or Delhi to Jaipur we will decline to arrange a flight at all.

We keep the last full meal about four hours before departure, drive ghat and hill sections deliberately rather than at highway pace, and stop every three to four hours for water and a stretch. Tell us at booking if your dog has a history of motion sickness and we will plan the feeding window and the route profile around it.

Only if you choose a shared run. Dedicated is the default: your pet travels alone or with its own siblings, in a vehicle assigned to your move. Shared runs cost less and depend on a compatible route existing on your dates, and we never mix animals that should not travel together. A nervous cat and three large dogs is not a cost saving, it is a bad day.

Crated while the vehicle is moving, for the same reason people wear seatbelts. An unrestrained animal in a sudden stop is at real risk and can also reach the driver. At every break the animal comes out on a leash for water, a stretch and a toilet stop. On long runs that is roughly every two to three hours, and each stop is photographed and logged.

Above roughly 900 km we halt overnight rather than driving through. The handler stays with your pet at a pre-arranged stop, the animal is walked and fed on its normal schedule, and the van is not left unattended with a pet inside at any point. The halt is quoted as a line on your estimate rather than added afterwards.

Yes. Interstate movement needs the vehicle's permits and, on some routes, checkpoint documentation for the animal alongside its vaccination record. Those costs are in the quote. Border checkposts occasionally add an hour to a long run, which is built into the time we give you rather than discovered on the day.

You get a live tracking link for the whole trip plus a photo from every break stop, and the handler's direct number. It is deliberately not a call centre arrangement: the person who has your pet is the person you can reach, from pickup until they hand the animal over at your new door.
