Pet relocation documentation & NOC support

Nobody's pet has ever been turned away for being insufficiently loved. They get turned away for a certificate dated one day outside the window.

The short answer

Aigan prepares and files every document a pet move needs in India: veterinary fitness certificates, vaccination records, microchip verification, airline live-animal forms, AQCS import/export NOCs, DGFT short-stay licences and destination import permits. Paperwork failure (not travel itself) is the single biggest cause of cancelled pet relocations.

Is pet documentation & noc right for your pet?

Best for: Every move, and essential for imports into India.

  • Advance NOC applications for India typically take about 5 working days once filed correctly
  • Pets arriving in India for permanent relocation are usually observed for around 15 days
  • A single spelling mismatch between microchip records and a passport can void a file

Documents for moving a dog

For a domestic flight a dog needs a veterinary fitness-to-fly certificate dated inside the airline's window, a current rabies vaccination record, the carrier's live-animal declaration and, for large breeds on several airlines, a muzzle and chain listed on the form. For an international move the same dog needs an ISO-standard microchip implanted before the rabies vaccination that supports the titre, the titre report itself, parasite treatments inside the destination's windows, an AQCS-endorsed health certificate and the destination's import permit. Order matters more than anything: a step done early in the wrong sequence has to be done again.

Documents for moving a cat

A cat's paperwork is the dog's paperwork with fewer breed clauses and one extra trap. Domestically it is the fitness certificate, the vaccination record and the airline form. Internationally it is the same microchip-then-rabies-then-titre chain, and the trap is that several countries impose different treatment requirements on cats than on dogs, some ask for treatments cats do not need, some drop requirements that apply to dogs, so a checklist written for a dog will quietly fail for a cat. We build the list per species and per destination, never per household.

Charges

Pet documentation and NOC charges

Documentation starts at ₹6,000 for a domestic move and rises with the number of authorities involved. These are the government and veterinary charges that make up a file, separate from our fee for preparing and filing it.

Pet documentation and NOC charges, itemised

Veterinary fitness-to-fly certificateRegistered veterinarian₹800 – ₹2,500Dated within 10 days of travel, often 72 hours
Rabies vaccination and recordRegistered veterinarian₹500 – ₹1,500At least 30 days before a titre draw
ISO microchip and verificationRegistered veterinarian₹1,500 – ₹3,500Before the rabies vaccination that counts
Rabies titre (RNATT) testApproved laboratory₹6,000 – ₹12,0003 – 5 weeks for the result
AQCS export NOC and endorsementAnimal Quarantine & Certification Service₹3,000 – ₹8,000Filed in the final fortnight
AQCS advance import NOCAnimal Quarantine & Certification Service₹3,000 – ₹8,000About 5 working days once filed correctly
DGFT short-stay licenceDirectorate General of Foreign Trade₹5,000 – ₹15,0002 – 4 weeks, before the NOC application
Destination import permitDestination country authority₹4,000 – ₹35,0002 – 8 weeks depending on the country

Government fees change and are paid to the issuing authority, not to us. We pass them through at cost and show the receipt. Our fee is for building the date map, checking every character against the microchip record, filing, and attending in person where a station requires it.

Which pathway applies to bringing a pet into India?

Importing a pet into India runs through one of three pathways, and applying under the wrong one is a rejection rather than a delay. This is how we establish yours before anything is filed.

Pets arriving in India for permanent relocation are ordinarily observed on arrival. Plan for roughly fifteen days of post-arrival observation rather than assuming immediate release, and confirm the current position for your port of entry before booking a flight.

Before you book anything

What people worry about with pet documentation & noc

And precisely what we do about each one. If your worry isn't here, ask us. We'll answer it the same way.

“I don't even know which forms exist.”

You get one checklist with every document named, who issues it, what it costs, how long it takes and the exact date it must be dated.

“My health certificate expired before the flight.”

Validity windows are short: often 10 days, sometimes 72 hours. We schedule the vet visit against the flight, not against convenience.

“I applied under the wrong import pathway.”

Bringing a pet into India runs through Transfer of Residence, Re-import, or a DGFT short-stay licence. The wrong pathway is a rejection, so we establish yours before anything is filed.

“The AQCS office is a black box.”

We file, follow up and physically attend where needed. You get status updates instead of silence.

When you do not need us for the paperwork

A domestic flight for a healthy, vaccinated dog on a carrier that accepts pets is one vet visit and one airline form, and you can do it yourself in an afternoon. We say so on the first call rather than selling a documentation package around it. Where this service genuinely earns its fee is anything crossing India's border in either direction, anything with a titre and a waiting period in it, and any file where a name, a passport number and a microchip record have to match character for character across four authorities. That is where the failures actually happen.

Why Aigan for pet documentation & noc

  • You get a date map rather than a checklist: every certificate placed on a calendar with its issue window and its expiry, so nothing is valid on the wrong day.
  • We check spellings, passport numbers and microchip digits character by character, because a single mismatch between records voids a file that is otherwise perfect.
  • We file with AQCS and attend in person where the station requires it, and you get status updates instead of a reference number and silence.
