International pet relocation from India

The visa was the easy part. Getting a rabies titre report, an import permit and an export NOC to line up on the same calendar is where families lose sleep, and where we take over.

The short answer

Aigan handles pet exports from India to the USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Australia, Singapore, the EU and 50+ other destinations, including AQCS export NOC, DGFT and customs formalities, rabies titre (RNATT) testing, import permits, IATA crates and airline live-animal booking. Most international moves need 2–7 months of lead time, and we build the calendar backwards from your flight date.

Dog export from India

Exporting a dog is a documentation project with a flight at the end of it. The chain runs microchip, then rabies vaccination, then the RNATT titre blood draw at least thirty days later, then the destination's waiting period, and every link has to happen in that order. A titre drawn before the microchip was implanted is void no matter how good the result is. Large breeds add a second problem on top: the crate has to satisfy IATA Container Requirement 82 at a size the aircraft's hold door will accept, which for a giant breed rules out several routings before price is even discussed.

Cat export from India

Cats run the same rabies chain as dogs and almost none of the breed politics. No destination we work with bans a cat breed, no airline refuses a cat for its snout, and the crate is small enough that freight is rarely the largest line on the quote. The two things that catch cat owners are the parasite treatment windows some countries impose in the final days before departure, which are counted in hours and not days, and Persians. A flat-faced cat carries the same breathing risk in a hold as a Pug, and we plan the routing around it.

Charges

International pet relocation cost from India

An international move runs ₹85,000–₹4,50,000 per pet, and the spread is driven far more by the destination than by the animal. A Gulf move with no titre requirement sits at the bottom of that band; Australia, where quarantine is mandatory and charged by the facility, sits at the top.

International pet relocation cost from India, itemised
Line on your quoteTypical rangeWhat moves the number
Airline freight, India to destination₹55,000 – ₹2,80,000Crate volume, sector length, and whether a direct routing exists
IATA CR82 crate₹6,000 – ₹28,000Size class. A giant-breed crate costs several times a cat carrier
Rabies titre (RNATT) test₹6,000 – ₹12,000Approved laboratory, sample shipping, and a re-test if the titre comes back short
Microchip, vaccinations and parasite treatments₹2,000 – ₹8,000The destination's treatment windows, some of which are counted in hours
AQCS export NOC and health certificate endorsement₹3,000 – ₹8,000Which station endorses, and whether anything has to be re-issued
Destination import permit₹4,000 – ₹35,000Country. The Australian permit is the most expensive we file
Destination-side clearance and door delivery₹15,000 – ₹60,000Customs handling, quarantine liaison and distance from the arrival airport
Quarantine, where it is mandatory₹90,000 – ₹1,60,000Australia and New Zealand. Billed by the government facility, not by us

Quarantine is the only line here we do not control and do not mark up. It is paid to the receiving facility and we pass the invoice through. Every other line is quoted before you commit to anything, including the tests that have to happen months before a flight is bookable.

Compare

Lead time and requirements by destination

The calendar is set by the destination's rabies rules, not by ours. Read the wait column as a floor rather than an estimate: it starts on the day the titre blood is drawn, not the day you call us, and no amount of paying extra shortens it.

Lead time and requirements by destination
DestinationRealistic lead timeRabies titreQuarantine on arrival
UAE, Qatar and the Gulf6 – 10 weeksUsually not requiredNone
USA and Canada2 – 4 monthsRequired for dogs leaving India in most casesNone when the file is complete
UK, Ireland and the EU4 – 6 monthsRequired, then a three-month waitNone when the file is complete
Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong4 – 6 monthsRequiredYes, a fixed period at an approved facility
Australia and New Zealand6 – 7 monthsRequired, with the longest waiting period of any destinationYes, minimum ten days at a government facility

Import rules change without much notice and they change per species. We confirm your destination against the authority's current published rule set at the point of quoting, and again before the health certificate is dated. The table above is a planning tool, not the rule.

Before you book anything

What people worry about with international pet relocation

And precisely what we do about each one. If your worry isn't here, ask us. We'll answer it the same way.

“One wrong document and my pet gets quarantined.”

We work backwards from the destination's import rule set (titre validity, waiting periods, treatment windows, endorsement stamps) and lock each date into a shared timeline you can see.

“The rabies titre test takes months. Have I already missed the window?”

The RNATT blood draw and lab turnaround plus the destination's mandatory waiting period is the longest pole. We tell you on day one whether your flight date is realistic, honestly.

“Who receives my pet on the other side?”

Vetted destination agents in each country handle customs clearance, quarantine liaison where applicable, and door delivery, briefed by us, not left to chance.

“A 20-hour journey with two transits sounds cruel.”

We prefer the shortest routing on a live-animal-trained carrier, avoid overnight airport layovers where possible, and brief the airline's ground team on your pet's crate and hydration.

Airport check-in with our handler, in-flight monitoring where the carrier allows, and a partner receiving your pet on landing.

When we tell people to leave the pet in India for now

If you land in a country in five weeks and the destination requires a titre plus a three-month wait, no agency can compress that, and anyone who tells you otherwise is planning to put your pet on a plane with a file that will fail at the border. The right answer in that situation is unglamorous: you fly, the pet stays with family or in boarding, and we run the documentation to a realistic date two or three months later. It is a smaller booking for us and a far better outcome for the animal, and we would rather propose it on the first call than be forced into it on the fourth.

Why Aigan for international pet relocation

  • The timeline is built backwards from your flight date on the first call, so you learn in week one whether the date is real. Most people learn that in month three, from a laboratory.
  • Destination agents we have actually worked with, briefed by us, rather than a name pulled off a network directory the week your pet lands.
  • We file the AQCS side ourselves and attend in person where a station requires it, instead of handing you a form and a phone number.
Questions about this service

Frequently asked questions: international pet relocation

International pet relocation from India typically costs between ₹85,000 and ₹4,50,000 per pet. Airline freight (driven by crate volume, not just pet weight), destination country requirements, rabies titre testing, import permits and crate size are the biggest variables. Australia and New Zealand sit at the top of the range because of mandatory quarantine.
