The short answer

Aigan relocates pets from Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula across India, using Shaheed Bhagat Singh International (IXC) for domestic sectors and routing internationally via Delhi. Road relocation across Punjab, Himachal and Haryana is a core service here. Domestic moves from Chandigarh typically run ₹13,000–₹40,000 door to door.

What makes pet relocation from Chandigarh different?

  • This is our base for hill-station pickups across Himachal and Uttarakhand, where road is the only realistic option.
  • Chandigarh's spring and autumn are the most forgiving travel conditions of any city we operate in.
  • IXC has limited live-animal sectors, so Delhi is often the better departure point for anything long-haul or international.

Dog transportation services in Chandigarh

Dog transportation from Chandigarh is straightforward for domestic moves and usually staged through Delhi for anything long-haul, because IXC's live-animal sectors are limited. The tricity is one of the easiest places in India to collect a large dog from. Planned sector housing, good van access, easy parking and almost no gate-pass bureaucracy.

How dog relocation works

Cat relocation services in Chandigarh

Cat relocation from Chandigarh benefits from the same easy access, and for the Delhi leg a van carrying multiple cats together costs far less than three separate air freight charges. Spring and autumn here give the most forgiving travel conditions of any city we operate in. Persians get the brachycephalic caution.

How pets travel from Chandigarh: air, train and road

We pick the mode for your pet's breed, size, age and the season, not for our convenience. Here is what each one actually looks like from Chandigarh.

Pet transport from Chandigarh by air (IXC)

The Mohali-side cargo terminal at IXC accepts live animals 3–4 hours ahead subject to carrier acceptance, about 12 km out. Sector choice is thin, so for long-haul we generally recommend driving to DEL instead.

Air transport in detail

Pet transport from Chandigarh by train

Escorted rail from Chandigarh Junction works well for brachycephalic breeds, senior dogs and anxious animals, and sidesteps both the summer heat and the winter fog. A full first-class coupé is booked for exclusive use.

Train transport in detail

Pet transport from Chandigarh by road

This is the region's core mode. Vans run to Delhi in about five hours, and across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Uttarakhand. Including Shimla, Dharamshala, Manali and Solan, where road is the only realistic option in that terrain.

Which service you need

Door-to-door or airport-to-airport?

Two ways to buy a pet relocation, and the difference is who does the driving and the paperwork. Here is what each one means in Chandigarh specifically.

Most people book this

Door-to-door pet relocation

A handler collects from Sector 17, Mohali, Panchkula or Zirakpur and either uses IXC or drives the five hours to Delhi. The tricity is among the easiest places in India to collect from. Planned sector housing, good van access, easy parking and almost no gate-pass bureaucracy, which shows up as shorter buffers and pickup windows we actually hold.

Airport-to-airport pet transport

You take your pet to the Mohali-side cargo terminal at IXC. It saves ₹3,000–₹5,500. The limiting factor is not the drive but the sector list: IXC's live-animal capacity is thin, so confirm your specific flight will take your pet before planning around it.

International pet relocation from Chandigarh

There is no AQCS station in the region, so export inspection and the health certificate happen at AQCS Kapashera in Delhi, about five hours by road. International moves from Chandigarh stage through Delhi as a matter of course rather than attempting anything from IXC, and we plan that leg as part of the move.

Paperwork

Documents and health checks for pets leaving Chandigarh

Nothing here is optional, and nothing here is quick. This is the chain, and where Chandigarh sits in it.

There is no AQCS station in the region, so export inspection and the health certificate happen at AQCS Kapashera in Delhi, about five hours away. International moves from Chandigarh stage through Delhi as a matter of course. You need to be there for the paperwork regardless, which is part of why we recommend driving down rather than flying from IXC.

The order matters more than the list. A titre test drawn before the microchip was fitted does not count, and redoing it costs three weeks.

What to be careful about when moving a pet from Chandigarh

Three things go wrong on Chandigarh moves more than anything else. None of them are difficult to avoid, and all of them are easier to fix three weeks out than three days out.

  1. Drive to Delhi for anything long-haul

IXC's limited live-animal capacity means a thin schedule and few alternatives if a sector cancels. Five hours on the road buys a far wider choice out of DEL. And for international moves you need to be in Delhi for the paperwork anyway.

  2. Hill pickups are planned around daylight, not the clock

Shimla, Dharamshala, Manali and the Uttarakhand hill towns are road-only, and those runs are scheduled against road conditions and light rather than a flight time. Build in more days than the distance suggests.

  3. Fog blankets the whole Punjab plain in winter

It affects both IXC departures and the Delhi road corridor, so there is no clean way around it. We favour daylight road runs through that window and will not drive the plain at 5am in dense fog with an animal aboard.

Snub-nosed breeds: Pugs, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus and Persian cats

Chandigarh's spring and autumn are the most forgiving conditions of any city we operate in, and a snub-nosed pet that could not fly from Delhi in May can often travel comfortably from here in March or October. May and June still close the window, and the December fog closes it again. But the shoulder seasons here are genuinely generous.

Best time to move a pet from Chandigarh

Airlines stop accepting live animals above roughly 28–29°C on the ground. These are the windows that actually close in Chandigarh.

  • May and June

What bites: Genuine summer heat, though a shorter window than Delhi or Jaipur.

What we do: Morning or evening departures. Chandigarh rarely needs full pre-dawn scheduling.

  • Late December to January

What bites: Fog across the whole Punjab plain, affecting both IXC departures and the Delhi road corridor.

What we do: Daylight road runs to Delhi rather than early flights, and a contingency date held throughout.

How it actually works here

Flying a pet out of IXC, in practice

The specifics we plan a Chandigarh move around. Generic advice is what gets pets turned away at counters.

Where your pet is handed over

Chandigarh Air Cargo Terminal, Mohali side. Live animals are accepted 3–4 hours before departure, subject to carrier acceptance.

The airport run

12 km from most addresses. We build 55 minutes of buffer into every pickup before the acceptance clock starts.

Quarantine office, elsewhere

AQCS New Delhi, Kapashera. No station in the region. Delhi is about 5 hours by road, and international moves generally stage there rather than attempting anything from IXC.

Buildings, lifts and gates

Chandigarh is planned, low-rise and easy. Sector housing has good van access and parking is rarely a problem, which makes pickups here among the simplest we do. Mohali and Zirakpur have newer apartment towers with standard gate and lift procedures. Kharar and New Chandigarh are still developing and we confirm approach roads before travel day.

Vets and health certificates

Good veterinary practice across the tricity, but any international certificate has to satisfy AQCS Kapashera. We brief the vet accordingly and plan the Delhi trip into the timeline rather than treating it as an afterthought.

If flying isn't right

Escorted rail departs from Chandigarh Junction. We recommend it for snub-nosed breeds, senior pets and anxious animals regardless of what is fastest.

Why us

Why Aigan for pet relocation in Chandigarh

Three things that are true here specifically, not three things every pet transport company in India claims.

01

We are the practical base for Himachal and Uttarakhand hill pickups, a niche almost nobody else serves properly.

02

Honest routing advice: we will tell you to drive to Delhi rather than book a thin IXC sector that may not hold.

03

The tricity is genuinely easy to collect from, and we pass that on in shorter buffers and more reliable pickup windows.
